Addressed to Hongkong.

German Consul-General informs me that Russian

Consul-General five ladies and one infant are being

deported and he asks permission for transit through

Hongkong. Names of the party will be sent by post

to-day. They propose to arrive at Hongkong by the

morning steamer on December 30th and tranship for

Vladivostock via Shanghai on the following day.

Please telegraph approval if no objection.

They also request permission to make purchases

in Hongkong as all their effects including passports

and other papers have been seized by the Chinese.

Remaining five members of consulate staff and

all other Russians caught in Canton about eleven

in all have been executed.

No. 70 and Shanghai.
